The
Government of India, in the year 1950, introduced the Craftsman Training
Scheme countrywide to ensure a steady flow of skilled workers in different
trades for the domestic industries by systematic training of workers, to
raise industrial production quantitatively and qualitatively, to reduce
unemployment among the educated youths by providing them employable
training, to cultivate and nurture a technical and industrial attitude in
the minds of the younger generation. This very scheme now stands the most
important in the field of Vocational Training, shaping craftsmen to meet
the existing as well as future manpower need through the vast network of
ITI(s) Countrywide. |
